It’s National Mojito Day and you know what that means: it’s time to celebrate. Mojitos are refreshing Cuban beverages made with sugar, lime, white rum and mint. Oh and I think soda water sometimes. I usually have to be in a mood to order a mojito but I do find them very enjoyable especially on a really hot day. At present time, hot days are everyday.
One thing to keep in mind when it comes to mojitos: don’t order them at the bar when it’s super busy. There’s a lot of muddling that goes into making a mojito and if the bar is backed up, the last thing your bartender wants to do is sit there and muddle mojitos. OK?
So back to National Mojito Day.
I’ve rounded up a few recipes that you can recreate if you’d like to do your own celebrating at home (which obviously you should do).
National Mojito Day – let’s celebrate!
Try any of these 6 mojito recipes for a fun way to celebrate.
Pineapple ginger mojitos – Is there really any better flavors than pineapple and ginger mixed together?
Grapefruit mojitos – Tart and sweet; it’s really the perfect balance.
Pimm’s lemon mojito – An interested use of Pimm’s. It’s full of flavor and doesn’t lack potency.
Spicy strawberry mojito – Do you love spicy cocktails? Sometimes I love an adult beverage with a little heat.
Lychee basil mojito – This is sort of the ‘wild card’ of the bunch, I guess. Lychee + basil sounds like a flavor explosion I can get with.
Peach mojito – Peaches make most cocktails better, right?
How are you celebrating National Mojito Day?
I can’t believe I missed National Mojito Day!
