Five Second Rule: Chai-Spiced Recipes (besides tea)

I guess chai is an acquired taste. I like it. I love getting dirty chai lattes but John doesn’t seem to be a big fan of chai. He says it’s ‘too flavorful’. The weird thing is that I kinda understand him. Chai packs a lot of powerful spices but when paired with the right ingredients, I think it can be a good addition to certain dishes and drinks. Anyway, on this edition of five second rule, I decided to round up five chai-spiced recipes that are unique and delicious.

In case you’re new here (hi, welcome), Five Second Rule is a series where I share five recipes featuring one ingredient. The idea is to show you different ways to enjoy and experience a specific ingredient. Here’s one featuring tequila and another with Brussels sprouts.

Today’s five second rule is all about chai-spiced recipes that take chai out of its typical tea cup. OK let’s get started.

CHAI OLD FASHIONED
An old fashioned is as classic as you can get when it comes to cocktails. But once in a blue moon, I like to modify even the most classic of recipes. Insert a chai old fashioned. It packs a punch like a regular old fashioned but adds even more flavor with the addition of chai. (RECIPE)

FRENCH PRESS CHAI LATTE
I love a chai latte in the fall but on days when I don’t want to leave the house, I wanted to think of a way I could try to make these at home. Enter one of my favorite chai-spiced recipes: chai latte. BUT with this one, you can make it in your french press and it’s all good. (RECIPE)

CHAI FRENCH TOAST
You know I love French toast and this chai french toast was the bees knees. Where did that phrase come from? What does it even mean? Whatever. What I’m trying to say is that adding a little chai spice to a classic french toast recipe should be done as soon as possible. (RECIPE)

CHAI INFUSED BOURBON
There’s nothing I love more than infusing liquor with different flavors. I haven’t done it in a while but this chai infused bourbon is an infusion process that I enjoyed. You can use it to amp up the flavor in a cocktail of your choice or just sip it neat. (RECIPE)
