Gin & (Pear) Juice Cocktail

Jump to recipe

A couple of months ago, I learned a lot about my friends and followers on Instagram. It was the anniversary of Notorious B.I.G.’s death, which was my first concert. So I posed the question: what was your first concert? The responses were funny and shocking. I also misjudged A LOT of my friends. It’s was pretty fun reading everyone’s responses. Even though it’s been fun learning everyone’s musical interests, it would have been more fun to read these responses with a little gin and juice cocktail.

Besides gin and juice being a popular song in 1993, it’s also a beverage combo that people like apparently. I think it’s gin and orange juice…or pineapple juice – not really sure. I like gin but I typically drink it with tonic water. Though I do love gin paired with other juices and flavors, a classic gin and tonic is so good on a hot day. Are you a fan of a G&T?

I was trolling around my kitchen and realized I had some pear juice from a previous experiment and thought I should try to make a refreshing cocktail. I’m pleased to say, I think I succeeded. I love pears and personally, I don’t think it’s paired with adult beverages enough. Oh well.

Gin & juice (laid back)

As I type this, I could honestly use this drink right now. It’s refreshing and just what’s needed on a hot day. Apparently, we’ve skipped spring and moved straight into summer. How does that happen? Is it climate change? Is it just living in Tennessee?

WHAT IS HAPPENING?

Seriously, we went directly into summer. We’ve had no 70 degree days. Just the other day it was almost 90 degrees. Yikes.

Alright, alright. Back to the cocktail. It’s so easy to make y’all. I should have made this a 5 minute cocktail. So this drink you can easily make if you’re going to be poolside or even if you’re having folks over and don’t want to spend a ton of time behind the bar. To save you some time, you can blend the pear juice and the gin ahead of time, then top it with champagne when you’re ready to serve. Done and done.
