What I’m Watching on Netflix

What I'm currently binge watching on netflix.Life has been good but a little hectic. It has seemed a little hectic for the simple fact that life happens. Between trying to finish my e-book (update: it’s done!) and trying to build my freelance clientele, it’s just been hectic. Lucky for me, I have John and a number of friends and family who are super-supportive of everything. What’s also lucky for me? Netflix. On some days, I just need a little time for binge-watching on Netflix without any interruption.

There are days when I really enjoy laying on the couch or in the bed and doing nothing more than watching television. Sometimes it’s a thought-provoking documentary, other times it may be a silly sitcom to watch with John. It really just depends on the type of mood I’m in.

While we’re on the subject of Netflix, do you remember when Netflix was strictly a mail subscription service? Do they still offer the mail option? I have no idea if they do but I totally remember getting a few DVD’s then mailing them back to get more. Looking back at that now, it seems really antiquated and slow doesn’t it? Now we have such easy access to streaming services. It makes it almost embarrassingly easy for us to binge-watch all the things.

What I’m binge-watching on Netflix lately – updated

Easy. I just re-watched Easy for the second time. I can’t explain it but there’s just something about it that I love. It’s a comedy/drama anthology series which follows a group of folks who live in Chicago. There’s currently two seasons on Netflix currently with a third and final season premiering soon. There are a lot of familiar people in this series too: Dave Franco, Zazie Beetz, Hannibal Burress, Aubrey Plaza – I mean this doesn’t even scratch the surface. Try it out.

Friends From College. I’ve read and realized that people either love or hate this show. I’m on the love spectrum. It’s about a group of early 40-something year old friends who all went to Harvard together. They’re navigating their very messy lives (personal & professional) while living in New York. The second season premiered just a few days ago. Who will you see in the show? Keegan Michael Key, Fred Savage, Billy Eichner and more. I just really like it and definitely had some laugh-out-loud moments.

Tidying Up. OK full disclosure: At the time of writing this, I haven’t actually started this series yet but I’m about to. I’ve heard a lot about Marie Kondo before her Netflix show and was a little intrigued. I need some inspiration on tidying up so I’m going to give this series a try. Have you seen it?

Wanderlust. This just popped up as a recommendation one day and I thought, why not. I really liked it. It’s a British show that follows a therapist (Toni Collette) who’s trying to ignite a spark with her husband.

Nashville Airbnb.

Safe. Safe stars Michael C. Hall (yes, Dexter). He also has a weird British accent in it. If you can get past his accent, you *may* like this – who knows. I also say ‘weird British accent’ because he’s actually from North Carolina. Anyway, the show follows him (a widower) as he tries to locate his missing daughter.

SALT.FAT.ACID.HEAT. I absolutely cannot forget about this. I looooved this show. I always seem to find a good food show to watch. The good thing about this one is that there are only four episodes. I recently made one of the recipes from this show too!

Jane the Virgin. I was real late to the Jane the Virgin train. Initially, I had no interest in watching because it seemed sort of silly. But I was looking for something to watch not too long ago and binged it all on Netflix. Turns out: I really liked it. I also really like Gina Rodriguez so that helped. The final season is coming out at some point in 2019 and I sort of can’t wait. This show is much smarter than I thought – if that even makes sense?

Sons of Anarchy. John and I decided to revisit Sons of Anarchy a few months ago. I wanted to re-watch it but I was trying to muster the courage to do it. Whew. Even the second time around, that series is pretty shocking. I never thought in a million years I would have been a fan of this show but I watched it ’till the end and loved it. Very grimy but good.

I’m debating revisiting Brothers & Sisters – did you watch this when it was on? I’ve re-watched it once or twice already and I feel like it’s about time for another revisit.

Great post! I love Grace and Frankie and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (new season is almost out, can’t wait!). I’ve been watching Riverdale and Sense 8 too, really good.

    Have a good one,

I got excited the other day to see Friends From College had new episodes. Insatiable, about two outcasts one turned beauty queen, is on my recently watched list. Next is Grey’s Anatomy. Somewhere along the series I lost interest. Glad I can binge watch now. OMG, just remembered that I finished Ozark. It’s a must see. That’s it. 😊
