Whenever I hear the words “pinot noir” I always think of Tituss Burgess now. If you’ve watched “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt ” season 1, you already know why. It was a great scene and Tituss should have received many, many awards for it. Did he? I have no idea. As much as I love watching “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”, I have to say, I would welcome with very open arms, a spinoff centered around Tituss. I mean, he is a gem. I’m blabbering about pinot noir because today is all about a pretty yummy and chill red wine punch.
Wait, am I done with Tituss? No. Let me share this Instagram video, which has brought me SO MUCH JOY.
I mean, if you didn’t laugh or just simply smile while watching that, WHERE’S YOUR HEART?
The funny thing about all of this is that I didn’t even use pinot noir in this recipe. So here I am going on and on about pinot noir and yet I used a California red (whatever that means) for this recipe. I will say though, if you have pinot noir on hand use it! This red wine punch can be made with any red wine you have on hand.
Party drink: red wine punch
I think this punch can be enjoyed no matter the season BUT it was especially tasty in this terrible season we call winter. Red wine is warming and another ingredient in this punch, apple cider, also gives me winter vibes. But don’t that turn you off if you happen to come back to this page when it’s summer. Try it maybe with a Lambrusco? I haven’t tried it but is sounds good.
You can make a huge serving of this (yes, like the title suggests – a punch) OR you can just adjust and make a glass of it. The choice is yours, friends.
Also when it boils down to the garnishes for individual servings of the red wine punch, do what you like. Orange slices are beautiful and pomegranate seeds/arils are super annoying but look really good in this drink. Lemons would work as would rosemary or limes. Get wild.
