A getaway to Santa Fe

I’ve recently become slightly obsessed with the southwest. It’s something about the architecture, history and skyline that completely sold me. While the southwest was calling my name (very loudly), I wasn’t sold on traveling alone. There’s something intimidating about it. I initially thought this would be a family trip, then a couple’s trip and I finally surrendered to what my instinct was telling me which was to go alone.

And I did.

My Santa Fe travel guide includes places I explored and also places that are on my wishlist for the next time (yes, there will be a next time). I’m already plotting a return and this time I’ll take folks with me.

A few things I learned (and loved) about Santa Fe:

  • The population is quite smaller than I imagined (roughly 87,000)
  • The food is phenomenal. There’s a bit of something for everyone
  • Breakfast burritos were started/invented there

I cannot wait to go back and learn more about the City Different (Santa Fe’s nickname). Perhaps in the warmer months. Have you been to Santa Fe before?

I flew into Albuquerque and took an Uber to Santa Fe, which was about an hour away. There’s a small airport in Santa Fe but it’s pretty limited as far as airlines that fly there. I flew Delta and at the time, they didn’t fly directly into Santa Fe.

My hotel, Bishop’s Lodge, was able to schedule a return car service for my trip back to Albuquerque (super convenient).

Overall, Santa Fe was a fairly easy city to navigate and it didn’t hurt that my awesome hotel, offered a car service to help me explore a bit.

If there’s anything in my Santa Fe travel guide that isn’t covered and you’d like a bit more information, let me know!
