What I’m buying from Trader Joe’s

In my twenties, Two Buck Chuck got me through when I “needed” wine but didn’t have the funds for fancy stuff (nor did I understand the difference, honestly). Luckily, my love for Trader Joe’s has gone beyond Two Buck Chuck and today, I’m sharing a few products from TJ’s that are on my rotating ‘things to buy’ list.

Not too long ago, John and I closed on a house and now we’re all moved in and settled (we aren’t settled at all, let’s be honest). However, after a few bumps (i.e. a brand new dishwasher that never worked), I’m starting to feel that I can finally start working on getting the house together – one room at a time. Even though I’d like to snap my fingers and have it all done, I know that’s impossible and quite honestly, decorating a home is expensive – you hear me?

I say all of this to really say, Trader Joe’s has quite literally been a lifesaver for us when it comes to snacks and easy frozen meals – for those days when we’re too tired to cook or we simply don’t feel like dirtying dishes. This is especially true when we were dealing with the dishwasher debacle. Even before we moved, though, Trader’s got us through some lazy times.

My favorite items from Trader Joe’s

Let’s quickly breakdown these products:

Corn salsa – This is 100% always on our list. It is so flavorful, has a hint of spice and goes perfect on tacos, tortilla chips, crackers – you name it. I’ve even added some of it in leftover queso. Yum!

Buffalo chicken dip – Normally this is not my jam but it was a wildcard purchase and wow, I’m glad we did. A very tiny hint of spice and eating it with Ritz crackers is my absolute favorite.

Brown sugar oat creamer – I’m a no cream in my coffee girl but with a $1.99 price point, I decided to give it a try. Delicious. If you like creamer or you just want a yummy sweet treat in your morning beverage, don’t miss this.

Rosé – A pretty tasty fizzy wine that’s less than $10. Need I say more?

Flatbread – I bought this on a whim and decided it was decent enough to buy again. It has some of my favorite ingredients (burrata, prosciutto & arugula) and I jazz it up a bit by adding a drizzle of honey + red chili flakes. I’ve also doused it with a bit of balsamic vinegar.

Potstickers – There have been many nights when John and I cannot even think about dinner and these potstickers have saved our hungry lives. I love dipping them in Momofuku soy sauce.

Salmon – Nope, not that exciting but anytime I go to Trader Joe’s I always snag a salmon fillet.

Lemon & chicken arugula salad – This is one of my go-to items for lunch. The spicy dressing that it comes with is top-knotch. Love this salad and I need to try to recreate it at home!

Tomato salsa – I started this list with salsa and so I’m ending it with salsa. The texture of this salsa reminds me of what you’d get in a restaurant and so it’s also one of my favorite snacks.

Before even publishing this, I’m already pondering an update. I recently picked up a couple more items that could be added to my go-to Trader Joe’s list:
  • Pineapple salsa
  • Turkey corndogs

Stay tuned!
