Remember when I was fundraising for The Chattery just a couple of months ago? Whew, what a time. Well, we were successful but now the hard work is here because that’s how the cookie crumbles. Jennifer (my biz partner) and I are now doing The Chattery full-time and it feels great. It feels very scary but really magical at the same time. Even though running your own business is hard (trust me), it’s also really fun! It has allowed me to find time to make and sip more refreshing drinks like this lemon and blueberry gin cocktail.
The summer is the perfect time to explore with different fruits and herbs to make spritzes and other refreshing cocktails. Let’s be honest though, you can experiment with this stuff anytime during the year. But for some reason, summer seems like the best time. Also totally unrelated to a specific cocktail, the colors and flavors of lemons and blueberries combined is perfect.
What about a lemon and blueberry pie? I feel like I’ve had a slice of this pie flavor before and I could use another one right now. How did I end up here, talking about pie?
Lemon and blueberry gin cooler
Remember my tips for becoming an intuitive cook? I guess the same could apply when making cocktails. Remember to experiment and try different things. Test different variations and liquors until you find a combo that you like.
With this cocktail, you can try a few different variations:
- lemon + strawberries
- blood oranges instead of lemons
- grapefruit flavored sparkling water instead of lemon
You get the point, right?
Anyway, this lemon blueberry gin drink is perfect for pool sitting or chillin’ at home watching reruns of The Office (which may be what I’m doing now). Let’s make this drink and cheers to cooler temperatures appearing one day.
