Honey Citrus Vinaigrette

Jump to recipe

Truth be told, I made this recipe back in September and was supposed to share it then. Unfortunately (or fortunately), my editorial calendar moves around a bit and that’s OK. I try not to beat myself up over changes or reschedules. Hello! My word for 2019 is SHIFT so that’s what I’m doing, right? Sort of. Anyway, I may not have shared this honey citrus vinaigrette recipe in September but it’s here now and that’s the important part.

Let’s talk about fruit for a second. I have a pretty good relationship with most fruits. I love apples, oranges, grapefruits, bananas – you know? The usual suspects. The only fruits that I have a love/hate relationship with are blackberries and raspberries. I love the idea of them but the way the little gritty things attack my teeth are just criminal. MAKE IT STOP. That’s really my only complaint when it comes to fruit.

I haven’t really found anything that I’m allergic to though, pineapple seems to do a number on my mouth but I hear that happens with lots of folks. John also makes claims that he’s allergic to SO MANY fruits and from my sarcasm, I don’t totally believe him. But that’s not what this post is about. This post is about how I found a way to make a bowl of deliciously ripe fruit even better.

Honey citrus vinaigrette (sort of addictive)

Here’s what you do: head to the store and stock up on your favorite fruits then make this vinaigrette and get ready to be wowed. Honestly, I wanted to just drink this vinaigrette out of the jar but I withheld (barely). It’s sweet, tart and pretty much perfect.

Whether it’s a sweet vinaigrette or a savory one, you should really be making vinaigrettes at home. They’re so easy and taste better than some of the store-bought ones. All you have to do is throw all of your ingredients in a jar and shake, shake, shake. Doesn’t get much easier than that.
