Weekend Vibes: Dream Vacations

Who needs a vacation? I know I do. I find myself watching travel shows just so I can pretend to get away for a bit. John and I don’t travel all of the time but we do make sure to plan out a few places throughout the year. No matter how busy life gets, we always make sure we have some time away from home to chill and hangout. It’s nice to explore new places with him or even revisit places we’ve traveled to together (like Charleston).

Last year we didn’t do as much travel as we hoped. Normally, we take a little vacay in October before the holidays start but because of John’s injury, that wasn’t an option. I told John that I’d be totally fine with a vacation during the holidays just to do something different. Our holiday times are pretty fun but a holiday getaway is an idea I could get with too.

Occasionally, John and I will play a little game where we ask one another our top dream vacations. If money is no issue, time is not a problem, where would we go? After watching one too many travel shows, it made me think about updating my dream vacation list. Over the weekends, I always have these sorts of thoughts so that’s what I’m sharing with you today. I’d love to hear your dream vacations spots too!

5 dream vacations I want to take NOW

Lisbon.
I never really knew much about Lisbon, until recently. Its been coming up a lot on shows I watch and in conversations with friends. After watching Somebody Feed Phil, I started researching Lisbon and educating myself. Seriously, it looks like such a cool place. John is into it too.

Cape Town / Johannesburg
Really, anywhere in South Africa would ideal. From the beautiful land to the historical lessons, South Africa is really just so rich in all the things. If I could leave tomorrow, I think John and I would definitely jet off to South Africa.

Palm Springs
I have become pretty obsessed with Palm Springs. There’s just something about it that feels like I belong there. I joke around saying I can see myself there in one of those beautiful homes wearing a caftan and a turban – living my best life.

Dubrovnik
John has been talking about Croatia since we met. We haven’t made it there yet but we would both love to get there and see what all the fuss is about. Dubrovnik has a Mediterranean climate, which matches perfectly with my vacation requirements.

Napa Valley
Now this is a vacation we’ve actually been talking about doing soon. Napa is gorgeous not to mention THE WINE! I think Napa would be great to do with a group of friends so you can adventure to all of the vineyards together. I’ve been dying to eat at the French Laundry and hopefully, we can when we finally visit Napa.

Where are your current dream vacations?
