Favorite Instagram Accounts to Follow

Instagram is my favorite social platform. I love using Instagram for inspiration and for networking. Here are 6 of my favorite Instagram accounts to follow for a little inspiration or entertainment.Sometimes, I feel like I’m on my phone way too much. However, part of this brand I’ve created and most of my professional life relies on me being connected with folks via social media. Some of that connection is in person through workshops and events while the other part is connecting through Instagram. Though I think it’s good to sometimes take a step back and take a break from being on our phones too much, I do find a lot of inspiration on Instagram. Instagram is hands-down my favorite social media platform (even without the chronological feed). If you’re looking for inspiration, I’m sharing an updated list of my six favorite Instagram accounts to follow for 2019.

I know a lot of folks think Instagram is just a time suck of mindless scrolling BUT if you’re a business owner, you can make it work for you. I love Instagram for visually connecting with folks. Some of the Instagram accounts that I absolutely adore are people who I know, while others are accounts that I’ve always admired from afar. Let’s be honest, these are people who are friends in my head.

I love to use Instagram as a way to get inspired for events, recipes and traveling. I think of Instagram as a visual portfolio and I hope that others can see mine as an inspiration too. OK, here we go. Six of my favorite Instagram accounts. Oh! If you’re curious, here’s last year’s list of my favorite Instagram accounts to follow (I update this list every year): The Amateur Mixologist, Lena Waithe, Basically, Butter Be Ready, Will Smith, Strong Black Lead.

The Daley Plate

First, the name of her Instagram account is a play on her name, Dale, which I think is fantastic. Second – her recipes and photos are beautiful. Everything she makes is approachable and simple. Follow her here.

Ericka Hart is a sex therapist and a racial/social/gender justice disruptor and speaker. Since following her, I’ve learned so much. If you’re interested in learning more about these subjects, please follow her – you won’t regret it.  Follow Ericka here.

Chrissy Teigen

I’ve followed Chrissy since her first blog back in the day. I’m almost tempted to say it was closer to 10 years ago. I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve included her on this list. She’s definitely a favorite follow. Plese just go ahead and follow her here.

I’ve been a fan of Tracee since I can remember. I love her personality, her style (obviously) and her since of humor. She’s just all-around awesome. Fun fact: I used to run into her when she dated someone who lived in Atlanta. She walked her dog close to where I worked. Follow Tracee here.

Cook’s Illustrated

If you’re looking for an account that you can learn from, look no further than Cook’s Illustrated. I love this account because not only do they teach me fun things but all of their recipes have been tested multiple times, so you can really trust it. Follow them here.
