I mentioned in my weekend post that John and I have officially been married for 6 months – yay! I thought this would be a great time to sort of reflect on how the first 6 months have been, what we’ve learned and as always, what we’re looking forward to. We have many, many more years to go but I love celebrating the small milestones; they keep us looking forward to what’s to come. So, what have we learned from our first 6 months of marriage?
S H A W A N D A
having trips and weekend getaways planned every few months is super important and gives us something to look forward to.
starting our own family traditions is something that’s important for us.
giving each other “space” to work on our hobbies and crafts is crucial.
he really is my biggest cheerleader.
little things matter…like making coffee in the morning or emptying the dishwasher.
our movie dates are still my favorite type of dates…I never grow tired of them.
J O H N
leaving my wedding ring at home upsets my wife.
cleaning the kitchen is our duty.
to put the toilet seat down…when flushing. (editor’s note: I have this thing where I believe all kinds of germs and things fly around when you flush the toilet without having the lid down. It’s disgusting)
I’m learning how to be a better listener.
I’ve learned how important it is to be with someone who makes you feel special even when you think you don’t want or need it.
I learned that I’ve never been in love before prior to Shawanda.
Looking forward to a million more months together! Have a great weekend!
