Wedding Watch: Wardrobe Inspiration

Welcome to the second edition of Wedding Watch; my monthly blog series updating you on the wedding planning process and all the jazz (drama) that comes along with it.  Here’s last month’s in case you missed it.

This month, it’s all about wardrobe because…I found my dress!! This was the biggest task to cross off of my to do list. About two weeks ago the bestie and I went dress shopping and we walked away with a dress.  So happy to not have that worry anymore and so happy to have a dress!  I’m not going to share the dress that I purchased (John reads the blog) but I am going to share some of the dresses that I was deeply inspired by and dresses that I love…and still love.  Here we go.

When searching for a dress, though my style was little all over the place, I knew I wanted something that would be different.  Different how?  That was the million dollar question. I love dramatic bottoms, fitted bodices and a little sexiness in the back; I was even open to not necessarily wearing a crisp, white dress. White isn’t for everyone and to be honest, besides my favorite white v-neck tees, I rarely (if ever) wear white. So, that was the issue the BFF and I had to solve: how different did I want to go.

In five months, you’ll see if I decided to go against the grain or stick with a traditional dress.

Through this process, I did figure out that I absolutely adore Jenny Packham dresses, BHLDN and Amsale (duh).

Now, I’m toying with the idea of purchasing a reception dress.  Yes, I know. It’s a wedding not a fashion show BUT I’ve seen so many cute options that I’m almost convinced I want to and let’s face it – this is the only time it’s going to be acceptable for me to do a wardrobe change at a party, right?  I haven’t settled on anything yet, but here’s some inspirational pieces.

Can you tell I like gold…and sequins?  What do you think?
