Week of Love: Cocktails

You know I love a cocktail…a good cocktail.  Making them myself is always fun but finding fun bars to try unique cocktails is always a plus.  Having lived in both Atlanta and Chattanooga, I’ve had my share of frolicking to some pretty cool bars and taste-testing their cocktail menus.  Majority of the time, if it sounds like a pretty tasty cocktail, I’ll try it.  I’m not anti one particular liquor; I’m always open to trying something new. Don’t get me wrong, I totally understand folks who lean more towards one particular liquor like whiskey or vodka but I’m an open book when it comes to that sort of thing.  I pretty much love it all.  Even though, I will say, I do enjoy a margarita but tequila by itself is not something that I like.  In my opinion, it’s the devil of liquors.  I’m quite fond of whiskey, gin, sometimes vodka and everything else in between.  At any rate, here are a couple of places that I just love to grab a cocktail…

When I’m in Atlanta…

Seriously Top Flr is one of my favorite places ever.  They’re open late, the food is always good and the cocktails are even better.

While still getting to know Chattanooga…

Yes, The Social is the bar of the restaurant at the Public House that I mentioned Tuesday…it’s really one of my favorites for food and drinks.

Other places:
Local 191 – when the weather is warm, it’s the perfect drinking situation.
Lamar’s – how do you explain this place?  You don’t, you just have to experience it for yourself.
FoodWorks – love sitting at their bar having a cocktail…or two.
Though, I’m game to try any cocktail, if it sounds tasty, I do have quite a love affair with a few favorite cocktails. These are my favorite/go-to drinks:
gin & tonic.

margarita.

mimosa.

And not pictured is my definite go-to during the colder months, a whiskey and ginger ale.

Here’s two of my favorite cocktails that I’ve shared on my blog that have easily become two of my favorite drinks to make:

strawberry bourbon & ginger.

cardamom moscow mule.

What cocktails do you love?
