Bourbon and jam…who knew? Occasionally, when I’m bored or in the mood to create new things, I do a lot of experimenting. I’m always mixing up some random cocktail and asking John to try it while hoping for the best. I’ve seen a trend in mixing jam in cocktails and wasn’t too sure how I felt about it…until I made it myself. When the weather cools down, I tend to experiment a bit more with dark liquors; I find them to be warming and soothing. Ginger beer is something else that I love. I think it adds a bit of depth to cocktails not to mention it just tastes good. I try and keep ginger beer in my refrigerator for my ginger cravings and for cocktails, obviously.
Strawberry Bourbon & Ginger (I don’t have actual measurements; eyeball it!)
Ingredients
Bourbon (I used Bulleit but whatever you prefer will be just fine)
Ginger Beer
Strawberry jam
Pour bourbon in glass, add ginger beer and ice, stir in about a tsp of strawberry jam.
boom. A different way to enjoy a little bourbon and ginger drink.

This cocktail actually sounds really delicious and the pictures look so appetizing. I haven't tried any cocktail recipes with jam but I am going to have to try this one!
