I think I mentioned via Twitter or something that I would be starting new series entitled Food Wars. If you don’t follow me one Twitter, well, you should but let me briefly explain what this series is all about. I pick a food or beverage and based off of recommendations or places I like, frolic to 5 restaurants or bars that carry the food (or drink) and tell you about it all while picking my favorite. Hopefully this series will open your eyes to either trying something new or it’ll allow you to find a new restaurant or bar to folic. Even though the majority of the series will be based on the Chattanooga scene, I will attempt to incorporate some Food Wars posts based on places I visit. This time around it’s the ever so popular (or infamous depending how you look at it) Pumpkin Spice Latte. Here we go…
First up, Cadence Coffee

Ok – so Cadence Coffee is one of my favorite coffee shops. Before my schedule changed drastically, Cadence was my stop almost everyday for a little coffee pick me up. The pumpkin spice latte at Cadence was very flavorful and pretty much tasted like autumn. Just enough sweetness – perfection.
Round #2 – The Camp House
Love The Camp House. The atmosphere is serious…but in a good way. People are always there working or having meetings and that makes the energy very productive. Does that make sense? The pumpkin spice latte at The Camp House was constructed beautifully with a slight hint of spice; it reminded me more of a caramel latte, which isn’t a bad thing.
Next – Mean Mug
The name of this coffee shop alone is awesome. I didn’t have the pleasure of enjoying my latte inside and had to take it to go (sad) but I still enjoyed my drink from the team at Mean Mug. The latte smelled fantastic, wasn’t too sweet but you could definitely taste all of the usual spices you find in autumn recipes.
Obviously, you can see from this latte photo (and the next one) that these lattes were consumed while attempting to get some work done. Rembrandt’s is a great place to grab a coffee beverage or a pastry; perfect for a date after a movie. When the weather is warm, they have a great patio that’s just perfect. Rembrandt’s offered a pumpkin spice latte that smelled so delicious but wasn’t overpowering with pumpkin spice or any other spices.
Last but not least, Greyfriar’s
This was my first time in Greyfriar’s; I couldn’t believe it. I live in walking distance from it and have driven by quite a few times but never set foot indoors. I decided to stop by and try the last pumpkin spice latte on this food wars adventure. Though this wasn’t my favorite pumpkin spice latte, I’m glad I stopped in and will hopefully visit again soon.
All in all, Cadence Coffee was by far my favorite pumpkin spice latte. So Chattanooga, where’s your favorite place to grab a coffee?
