OK, OK. I’m actually going to keep this one very short. Not for a lack of words (I always have things to say) but because there’s a lot going on currently and quite honestly, this post was supposed to have already been published.
Oh well. That’s life though, right?
I’m also keeping this post short because none of the photos I attempted to take turned out decent. Scroll to the end of this post for a behind-the-scenes photo and the main reason why I don’t have any decent photos of my bitters & soda.
Last week’s episode (episode 3) had a suggested cocktail even though there was no blog post to accompany it. I just didn’t have much to say about a glass of champagne. But did you watch episode 3? It was the perfect episode to watch with a cold glass of champagne. This week is simple with a drink I’ve actually never had before (bitters & soda) but I was excited to try.
Anyway, we’re gliding into this week with a little less alcohol this time. I think Succession is getting to a place where we’ll need to pay close attention to the details so this week we’ll do it with less “juice”.
bitters & soda
I’m not a fan of club soda and sparkling waters. Remember when I did a taste test of sparkling waters that were suggested to me? While I didn’t fall in love with any of the waters I tried, I’ve since come to enjoy Top Chico (shocking, I know).
Topo Chico was absolutely necessary for this bitters & soda. I couldn’t make this drink with sparkling water I didn’t enjoy.
All you need to do to make a bitters & soda is throw some ice in a glass, pour in your favorite sparkling water and add a few dashes of bitters. There are tons of different bitters out there. You can go the route of traditional (Angostura bitters) or you can support a small business (and my friend) The Bitter Bottle. She has all types of unique concoctions that you must try.
That’s all I have today. Cheers!
