Just like advice, everyone has thoughts and opinions on products you’ll need after you have a baby. While most of it can be true, you have to choose for yourself what post-pregnancy products you’ll absolutely need. A lot of it you may not know what you really need until your babe arrives and that’s OK too. There’s no need to go into debt buying a bunch of products you don’t know if you’ll need or if your baby will even like.
If the countdown is on for when your baby arrives, I thought I’d share a list of products that John and I have found helpful since Mason arrived. Yes, it’s true, we have TONS of other products that we use daily or that will come in handy later but these are items that have made parenting a little easier. Being parents of a newborn isn’t for the faint of heart (trust me, I’m probably sleep typing) but having the right post-pregnancy products can be a huge help to getting into a new parent groove.
Post-pregnancy products we heart!
In addition to sharing the products we’ve fallen in love with, I’m also going to briefly explain why. There’s a huge learning curve that comes with becoming a parent and half of these things I’d never heard of until I got pregnant. Some of them sound like foreign languages to me and required a quick Google search which is why I’m going to give you a little explanation as to why these products are useful for us.
Ready to be overwhelmed? Just kidding, I’ll keep it light.
OXO bottle cleaner
It doesn’t get more exciting than a bottle cleaner, right? We love this one because it breaks down into two parts: the main brush then a much smaller cleaning apparatus that’s perfect for cleaning small items like pacifiers or bottle nipples.
Lansinoh TheraPearl Breast Therapy
Breastfeeding is hard. Along with the ups and downs that come along with it are also pains – like actual pains. To ease them, these Lansinoh 3-in-1 therapy packs have made life much easier for me. You can heat them up for relief or you can use them for cold therapy.
Haakaa silicone breast pump
Didn’t know how much I’d love this product. I’ve seen friends (and Chrissy Tiegen) rave about it so I figured I’d add it to our registry and I’m glad I did. They’re portable, travel-friendly and lightweight silicone breast pumps that come in handy almost daily for me. These are definitely worth purchasing or adding to your registry.
Bear onesie (similar to what we have)
OK – I know this seems like a weird item to have on this list but hear me out. Our friend Stephanie gave us a bear one piece from Carter’s that belonged to her son and Mason LOVES it. She loves it so much we ordered another one. I think she just feels warm and cozy in it. She will immediately go to sleep in this getup. The one I’ve linked here is not the exact one we own but something similar.
Boppy Lounger
Some Boppy Loungers have been recalled as of September 2021 (more info here). Babygirl loves to lounge on this thing and luckily we have two. We keep one in our living room and one in the bedroom. The boppy is perfect for when your babe wants to chill for a bit.
Frida mom bidet bottle
I found this useful no matter how you end up delivering your child. There’s a lot going on after you give birth and trust me mama, this item comes in handy.
Nursing bras from H&M
Nursing bras come in handy. Even though I’m at home 99% of the time and have no need to wear a nursing bra 24/7, I love the ones I purchased from H&M. I took them to the hospital which was super convenient.
Baby Brezza bottle sterilizer
There are lots of products like this out there but John and I really like this one. It sterilizes and dries bottles and other items too. It does take up quite a bit of room but other than that, it’s pretty good.
Personalized necklace
This is not a product that will make the newborn phase easier. This is an item that will make you, the parent, happy. I really wanted to a treat after Mason was born and I kept getting Instagram ads for personalized jewelry. I’m easily influenced so I purchased a necklace with Mason’s name from an Etsy store called Grace Personalized.
MAM bottles
These bottles seem to be working really well for us and for baby. They’ve really come in handy for night feedings (which John handles). I don’t know a lot about bottles but so far, these are winners for us.
On-the-go changing station
Even though we don’t many places, the few times we have left the house, this on-the-go changing station has come in handy – especially when you have to change your child…in the car. The trunk of your SUV to be specific.
Keep posting those baby pics!!! 🙂 Love this.
You got it! xoxo
