Unique Champagne Cocktail: Golden Bubbles

I don’t know about you but I’ve never thought about turmeric and champagne pairing together. Usually when I think of turmeric, I think about juices and other health-related items. Yes, I know you can certainly incorporate herbs and other wellness ingredients into cocktails but I’m not sure if turmeric ever popped up on my list. It definitely never popped up on my recipe experiments at home. I do like to keep a bottle of champagne at home so when I saw a recipe for a unique champagne cocktail, I immediately jumped on it.

Enter the golden bubbles.

Golden bubbles. That’s a cool name, right? At least I think it is. I didn’t come up with it but I thought it was cute. This recipe idea originated from With Food and Love and it was pretty yummy. I love cocktails with champagne – especially in the summer. I’m not sure what it is exactly about the addition of champagne to a cocktail but it just makes me feel…bubbly? That’s probably not the word I’m looking for but I’m sure you get the point, don’t ya?

Golden bubbles – a unique champagne cocktail

We’ve all heard the health benefits of turmeric, right? We recently started purchasing turmeric because one of the benefits is that it helps ease joint pain and inflammation. Remember when John ruptured his achilles? Since then we’ve incorporated some natural options to help soothe joint discomfort or pain and turmeric was always high on the list of recommendations.

Additionally, I’ve seen a lot of health-inspired lattes that feature turmeric. In fact, one of my favorite coffee shops in town has a turmeric latte that is pretty delicious. Even though I’m still learning about turmeric, one thing I learned that you should know before making this cocktail is that: IT STAINS YOUR FINGERS. It’s definitely not a big deal but I didn’t know that, so you can imagine my shock after slicing up my fresh turmeric. It came off (eventually) but you’ve been warned.

OK so back to this yummy, unique champagne cocktail. I prepared the recipe without making any changes. I think I halved it, though. The turmeric elixir is really great with bubbly but it’s also pretty tasty without alcohol (I tried). I hope you’ll try this beverage and start incorporating other herbs and spices into your champagne cocktails. Remember, champagne cocktails can be as flavorful and unique as you like. Have fun with it.

Cheers!
