Sunday Brunch at Red Sauce

Red Sauce is now permanently closed.

Typically, when John and I brunch, we always brunch at the same places. Not because we aren’t open to trying new restaurants but sometimes we just simply get into a routine of wanting to go somewhere familiar. You know? Sometimes, I just want what I want and that’s it. There’s no other logical explanation than that.

Not too long ago, John and I were informed about brunch at Red Sauce and we definitely wanted to try it. I’ve previously been to Red Sauce when they first opened and unfortunately, I hadn’t gone back. To be honest, when the temperatures get cold, I typically don’t go out a lot. I prefer to hibernate a bit. Aside from the food, there’s one thing Red Sauce has that is perfect: their patio. The first time I dined there I was immediately in awe of the patio area.

They have two patios: one is closed in and there’s another that is closer to the bar area. In fact, there are a few seats outside where you can park yourself right at the bar. Perfect. Now that it’s warm, it’s the perfect time to try Red Sauce and dine on the patio. It would really be a crime not to dine on the patio, honestly.

Brunch at Red Sauce

The most important item to mention about Red Sauce’s brunch is $1 mimosas. That’s right, an entire glass of morning juice for $1. Red Sauce isn’t the only restaurant in town to do this but it’s definitely appreciated.

I tried a breakfast staple, biscuits and gravy. Just recently did I start eating biscuits and gravy. Growing up, this wasn’t something we ate and given my disdain for white foods, the gravy part was never something I was into. This dish was good, though. All of my biscuits and gravy fears were cast aside and I quickly chowed down on it – as I sipped my $1 mimosa.

John noshed on the kitchen sink omelette, which he enjoyed. His omelette was filled with ham, bacon and sausage (I know, that’s a lot) but there’s also mushrooms, onions and peppers. Not to mention the pimento cheese and home fries on the side. It truly is a kitchen sink omelette.
