A Valentine Giveaway – CONTEST CLOSED

We’re kicking off the week of love on the blog today with an awesome giveaway because who doesn’t love a giveaway?

But first, let me tell you a little bit about a local jewelry store, Homegrown Silver and Stone. This is the cutest store with the sweetest staff. Homegrown Silver and Stone features local and handmade jewelry, accessories and gifts – they also have an in-house studio for custom orders. It’s awesome. They have an Etsy shop too with some great pieces. For readers who don’t live here in Tennessee, visit the Etsy shop – you’re bound to find something that you’ll fall in love with.

Recently I stopped into this cute shop and was wowed by the unique jewelry – no seriously, I wanted to buy everything. Just the other day on their Facebook page, they featured some beautiful rose gold stacking rings. Must. buy. now. Anyway, let’s take a virtual look around the store.

All of this brings me to my next point: a giveaway. I’m so excited about this one. Homegrown Silver and Stone and I have teamed up to give away a beautiful gemstone bar necklace.

Adorable, right?

A little about the necklace: It’s made with a gold fill 14″ chain and a hook and eye clasp (the clasp was hand crafted in the Homegrown studio!). The gemstone bar is made with real amethyst stones, which just happens to be February’s birthstone. This necklace is great layered with other necklaces or as a stand alone. The gemstone bar necklaces are VERY popular and usually sell out so enter for your chance to win it!

To enter: Leave a comment here telling us your most memorable Valentine’s Day…it’s that easy. Contest entrants must live in the Chattanooga area and winner must pick up the necklace from the Homegrown Silver & Stone store. Winner has 48 hours to respond before a new winner is named. Contest ends Thursday, February 11th, 11:59pm. Winners announced Friday, February 12th.

Good luck!

Memorable? Indeed. In fact, I don't ever think I'll let my boyfriend live it down. As a new couple in January '15, we entered our first Valentine's Day shyly. Leading up to it, we discussed the holiday and its standards and he informed me that he had already order me something! I was shocked, and obviously felt rushed into planning/ buying his! Valentine's Day rolled around and I presented him with several homemade CDs and a holder for his car (it was very much needed) and a sweet note along with it. He was very appreciative and excited, and loved the creativity- and told me mine was still in the mail. I'm very understanding and didn't mind, but the hilarious part? Months down the road and he still had yet to give or mention any Valentine's Day present. He lied about it all and then forgot to order/find an actual gift! Now any other girl would be a little angry..or even hurt, but I cling to the humor of the situation! And you know what, gifts aren't the only reason for the holiday. Not to mention the love he shares with me makes up for forgotten plans or holidays. I'm about to embark on my second Valentine's Day with this man…the love of my life!!! Despite that one time he tried to impress me and completely blew it, haha.

I was having lunch with my friend Miranda on Valentine's Day because neither of us had a date and found out that she was the reason Mr. Big and I did not get married! I walked out and could barely make it out of the restaurant because of all the balloons they as decoration for the holiday! It was sooooo stressful.

KIDDING!! The jewelry is beautiful!! My most memorable Valentine's would be the time my bf gifted me with a gorgeous handcrafted jewelry box that he had carved are initials into the bottom. He had spend hours and hours crafting it with me in mind.

oh how fun. My most memorable valentines, I was single!! I was in Clemson, and we went to Backstreets for Pizza Night. I always ordered a tomato and artichoke pizza, and the cook arranged the tomatoes in the shape of a heart. It was a fun beginning to a great night!

My most memorable Valentine's Day was last year. I had the chance to go to Mardi Gras with a friend over Valentine's Day. I love New Orleans and my boyfriend, while not totally thrilled with spending the holiday alone, was supportive and encouraged me to go! It was an amazing weekend and I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. I am so grateful to have found a man who supports my love of travel and adventure, and the steak he made me when I came home was the powdered sugar on the beignets!!!

My most memorable Valentine's Day was when I was in college and went to the ballet with my then boyfriend. I was obsessed with the ballet and I wanted to be in it so badly. But before the ballet started it was a redneck crowd for some country music. Weirdest transition of a crowd I've ever seen. But I had a great time. 🙂
