Well, here we are – another birthday and another year younger. Funny how that happens. I’m excited to be able to celebrate and see what this day and year will bring. Last weekend, before heading to dinner, I made a birthday cocktail before heading out and I’m sharing it today.
Birthday Cocktail 2013
Ingredients
– strawberry vodka (I used Smirnoff)
– prosecco (I used Luna d’Or)
– mint
– lime
– sugar
Muddle the lime, some mint and a bit of sugar in a cocktail shaker.
[if you need to purchase a muddler, I bought mine from World Market]
With the lime juice and mint still in the shaker, add ice and vodka; shake, shake, shake.
Pour into a champagne flute and top with prosecco.
Edible gold stars are optional but super fun to look at.
*this cocktail was very tart according to my taste testers. If you decide to make this drink, you may want to do one of two things: add quite a bit of sugar in the shaker or add simple syrup when you’re adding the ice and vodka to the shaker.
Even if it’s not your birthday, you can still enjoy!
