As I mentioned on Monday, this week I’m sharing things on my blog dealing with health and beauty. Today is dedicated to five very simple ways to add activity in your daily life without going to the gym. I’ll be the first to admit – I never go to the gym and I’m always looking for ways to incorporate some type of activity without having to take a trip to the gym.
- Take a walk – boyfriend and I try to take walks often and it’s always so pleasant that it doesn’t even feel like exercise. Walking can even be incorporated into your work day…take a walk during your lunch break!
- Go for a bike ride – riding a bike can be fun and it gets your heart rate going. Going for a bike ride is even easier now – most cities offer reasonably priced bike rental programs!
- The hip raise – an easy enough exercise to do at home and it tightens your core!
- Take the stairs – this one seems so easy but often we forget that just simply taking the stairs instead of the elevator can very easily be merged into your daily activities. This is definitely something I do while at work…or at least I try to.
- Crunches/Pushups – OK, so this is pretty basic when it comes down to exercises but how often to we do crunches or pushups during commercial breaks? So simple, yet so easy. Next time you’re on a commercial break from watching reality tv, add a few crunches to your life.
