Yes, I’m aware that it’s not Thanksgiving but I had to share my Thanksgiving burger I made a while ago. While being obsessed with all things Thanksgiving (it’s my favorite holiday), I thought of ways to continue with Thanksgiving without all the cooking & leftovers…and this is what the result was.
The structure for the burger:
-ground turkey (seasoned like you would any other burger)
-stuffing (to stuff inside of the burger)
-cheddar cheese (my mac & cheese reference)
-lettuce (because I needed some greenery)
-homemade cranberry jam (recipe found here)
The original plan was to use some type of corn bread as the “bun” but that was easier said than done, so I used a basic store-bought sweet roll. We always have sweet potatoes at my turkey-day table, so I made homemade sweet potato fries as a side dish.
I’m not one for cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving, but I felt like I needed something sweet and Thanksgiving-like on my burger. The cranberry jam recipe called for orange juice, but at the time I was all out. Therefore I improvised & used…Triple Sec! Crazy, but it worked.
