Celebrating soup season with Anderson House Frontier Soups

This post is a paid partnership with Anderson House Frontier Soups. All opinions are mine alone.

Raise your hand if your to-do list is overflowing like mine. Between running a business, and attempting to be a good parent, spouse, and friend – I’m spent. I’m always looking for ways to streamline my day-to-day life. From prioritizing tasks on my to-do list to menu planning for the week – I welcome ways to make my life easier.

As we enter two new seasons (Fall and soup, obviously), I’m totally embracing that I’m entering my cozy era, and with that, I have no plans of spending an absurd amount of time in the kitchen. Before I tell you how I’m making my kitchen life easier this season, I’ll let you in on a little secret: in my household, we’re a soup family no matter the season. Yes, we live in the South and summers can be pretty unbearable (I’m looking at you summer 2023). Even as I type this post it’s nearly 90 degrees today.  But besides being simply delicious, there’s just something about soup that’s super-comforting (or souper-comforting – see what I did there?). I don’t know about you but after a long day of adulting, comfort is just what I need.

While my soup-eating habits may differ from yours, they won’t after you try any one of the delicious soup mixes from Anderson House – I promise. So first, let’s start at the beginning. What is Anderson House? First and foremost it’s a family business (we love a family-run business). Formerly known as Frontier Soups, the business launched in the founder’s kitchen in 1983 and has blossomed into a successful food company over the last 40 years.

OK let’s talk about products. Anderson House offers dips and baking mixes and their claim to fame is, yes, you guessed it, soups! Anderson House offers a ton of soup mixes designed to make our lives much easier in the kitchen. What’s the point of soup season if we can’t actually enjoy it, right? Some of Anderson House’s soups mixes include flavors like New Orleans Creole Jambalaya, Rocky Mountain Trail Loaded Potato Soup, Virginia Blue Ridge Broccoli Cheddar and so much more.

Homemade in Minutes with Anderson House

As I make a goal to enjoy soup season and not be bogged down by cooking, Anderson House’s “Homemade in Minutes” line of soups is at the top of my list. The Homemade in Minutes soup mixes are perfect options when you’re in a hurry but you don’t want to sacrifice taste and flavor. Most soups in this category take 30-45 minutes to prepare so you can kick your feet up and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Here’s a peek into some of the mixes in the Homemade in Minutes category:

  • Chicago Bistro French Onion Soup (yum)
  • Cincinnati Style Sweet chili
  • South of the Border Tortilla Soup (my current favorite)

I recently tested the tortilla soup and my goodness it was so easy – not to mention delicious. One thing I took note of was that my kitchen smelled so good as the soup simmered. For some, soup can be an intimidating dish to make. Maybe it’s because of the layering of flavor profiles that you have to achieve or it’s the assumption that good soups must take hours to make. Anderson House soup mixes will debunk all of your soup assumptions.

With just a few added ingredients, you’ll make a delicious and tasty soup the entire family will love. For the tortilla soup, the only extra ingredients you’ll need are:

  • Chicken broth
  • Shredded chicken
  • Salsa
A plate of sliced limes.
A squeeze of fresh lime juice over the soup is a great bit of added flavor.

You can obviously add in some extra items if you want to get fancy like tortilla chips, avocado, or cheese (we love cheese in our family). These soup mixes are designed to make your life easy so like I say with most recipes and food-related posts, don’t overthink it! Anderson House has made it easy for us to embrace the idea of getting creative with the soup mixes – so get creative. A few ideas:

  • Use shrimp instead of chicken
  • Throw in some sour cream while the soup simmers for a creamier texture
  • Make it vegan by using veggie broth and adding in ingredients like sweet potatoes and black beans
