This is the second post in my attempt to share more reviews, recaps and tidbits from the cookbooks that I have. I started this little series with The Kitchn’s cookbook, which I really enjoyed. I’ve mentioned a few times that John and I received a juicer as one of our wedding gifts and we love it! Even though the last few weeks, we haven’t broken it out (forgive us, we’ve been busy) BUT with The Juice Solution, we’ll be back in the juice game in no time. I found this book at Anthropologie and ever since bringing it home, I’ve been so excited to crack it open! Get your own copy on Amazon.
So here are a few nuggets I picked up from The Juice Solution.
There are many reasons to juice
A lot of folks think that just because you’re juicing or simply enjoying a juice, you’re some crazy person or trying to lose weight…that’s not the case. This book is organized into four chapters for different needs ranging from energizing juices to detoxifying juices.
Pick the right juicer for you
There are tons of juicers out there…I mean tons. Ultimately, you have to pick the juicer that’s right for you…not necessarily the most popular or the most expensive. I researched juicers and looked for the qualities that were most useful for us. We don’t juice everyday and will probably *never* do a juice cleanse…again (long, hungry story). Ultimately, we were gifted our perfect juicer and we’ve been in love ever since! Learn more about our juicer!
Juice combinations are endless
This book has opened my eyes to all of the possible combinations that you can put together for a delicious and healthy juice. The Juice Solution has so many beautiful and interesting juice combinations that it’ll make even the non-juice believers start believing. I’ve tagged so many recipes to try in this book and I can’t wait to share with you what I make. Because John and I just got back form vacation, I’m in need of a detox juice and of course, this book has an entire section dedicated to juices for detoxing and the fruits and vegetables that are best for their detoxing abilities.
Results: The Juice Solution is an absolutely fantastic book for anyone who’s interested in learning more about juicing and ready to start experimenting. The authors do a great job of breaking down the why, when and how’s of juicing. What I really love is the breakdown of the book with subjects like energizing juices, juices that fuel and juices that protect; it’s really quite easy to follow. There’s a very helpful index in the back where you can simply search for a specific fruit or vegetable and find your recipe. A+ all around!
