Anti-Inflammatory Tonic

Last week I shared my thoughts on a recently purchased book on juicing, The Juice Solution. I loved the book because it has so many details and recipes on different types of juices and how they aid with your digestion or detox. I wanted to, of course, try a juice from this book and see how it goes. During the time I was searching for a recipe, we had just returned from Costa Rica and I was in need of something a bit detoxifying since we’d been eating and drinking a whole lot for seven straight days. So, I went straight to the detox section of the book and found an anti-inflammatory juice that I thought could be delicious.

For this juice, here’s what you’ll need:

1 cantaloupe
1 lime
1 small fresh turmeric
1/2 jalapeno
8 basil leaves
1 cup of coconut water

Juice first 5 ingredients and pour into a glass. Stir in the coconut water and enjoy!

It’s as simple as that.

If you’re not a fan of cantaloupe, this is not the juice for you. I love cantaloupe and it was a little too “cantaloupy” for me. The pepper added a good bit of spice, which I always love.

I’d probably use just a bit less cantaloupe next time but other than that, the juice was pretty tasty. I can’t wait to try some of the other juices in this book!
