DIY Dirty Chai Latte

I’m relatively new to the dirty chai latte game but I think I like it.  I was introduced to it by one of my favorite barista’s at a local coffee shop (Cadence Coffee) because I wanted to try something other than my usual caramel latte.  I was first intrigued by chai tea just from the smell; it smells like a warm autumn day.  I was hooked.  So, I try this dirty chai latte and it was phenomenal.  One day, while working from home, I wanted to try and recreate this amazing caffeinated beverage and so I set forth on an adventure.  Now, I do believe in shortcuts…work smarter not harder.  I do not own an espresso machine or any fancy tools to make high-end lattes.  I do have my trusty French press that I love so much.  That’s it.  So I improvise!

Though this may not have been exactly how my friendly barista made it, it was a delicious shortcut.

I started by brewing some chai tea and allowing it to steep.

While the tea is steeping I start my coffee.

Once the tea and coffee are complete, I got one of my favorite coffee/tea mugs that my best friend gave me and added a little warmed milk to it then poured in the tea.  Smells nice.

Add in the coffee and any sweeteners you like and enjoy.  The fragrance was enough to make me want to do it again.

So good.
