Three day weekends are so necessary every now and then. This was definitely a much-needed long weekend and I’m sad that it has to come to an end. The weekend started off by attending my company picnic, which was a fantastic way to get a jump start on Memorial Day activities. The rest of the weekend consisted of me trying to get organized (read: cleaning my apartment) and attempting to prep for the [short] week ahead. I baked a pie this weekend; stay tuned to my column on Nooga for the details on that. I rarely do any real baking so when I do bake, I try and make it something good. John and I went to visit some of his friends for a BBQ Sunday afternoon – BBQ’s are always enjoyable. So much food. I feel as though I spent a majority of my weekend outside. This is why I’m so in love with warm weather – I can finally get outside and frolic!
Found some time to sit and read a couple of my June magazines – I love the pink! Before heading out of town, we visited one of our favorite breakfast restaurants for a rare Sunday brunch. Thankfully, I live in walking distance to tons of things because most of the weekend, the roads were all closed in my neighborhood due to a cycling race or something like that. I’m still a little fuzzy on the details.
