The Weekend

Seriously, what’s up with the weather?  I guess I can’t complain too much – Saturday we were able to spend a little time outside but I’m ready for spring to just bloom…full force and that’s not happening.  Maybe I should just be patient.  This weekend was one of those weekends where I had no solid plans but it turned out to be a really fun and slightly eventful weekend.  From a random Friday evening at a local donut shop listening to live music to a simple text to see if some friends wanted to get ice cream, which led to an entire night of hanging out and laughing until my stomach hurt, I’d say this was a pretty productive and entertaining weekend.

One thing I learned from this weekend is that sometimes the best plans are those that are completely unplanned, which actually happened to John and I twice this weekend.  Sunday, we ran into friends while we were leaving brunch and ended up having dinner with them Sunday night. Despite my annoyance with the weather not being warm enough for me, this was a fantastic weekend for hanging with friends.  So much fun!

I made some lavender simple syrup this weekend, had some really delicious Indian food and no weekend is complete without having a little ice cream.

Also, if you’re in Chattanooga, be sure to sign up for The Chattery’s upcoming workshop: Indigo Fabric Dyeing. It’s going to to be a good one. The class is $25 and includes indigo dye to experiment on items in your closet that you may want to enhance a bit, material for an airy and lightweight summer scarf, instructions and guidance and of course, yummy spring snacks. For ticket info, visit The Chattery’s website.

Happy Monday!
