Party Week: Appetizers

Yesterday, I teased that the beginning of my Party Week theme here at eat.drink.frolic. would start today and I’m super-excited.  To start things off, I’m sharing some of my favorite small bites that I’ve made for party purposes and I’m sharing a few recipes that I haven’t made quite yet but would be fantastic in a party setting.

Usually if I throw a party where I’m serving food, I always like to serve small, easy to handle bites that aren’t heavy on your stomach or difficult to carry around.  Here are some great appetizer options for your fiesta:

1.  Strawberry Cheesecake

These cute little cheesecake filled strawberries can certainly fulfill the dessert requirement at any party.  They relatively simple to make (once you hull out the strawberries) and look really cute!

2.  BBQ Turkey Meatballs

I recently shared this recipe both on my blog and my column over on Nooga.com.  I made these into sliders but, the best option for a party would be to keep them warm in a pan or slow cooker and have cute toothpicks available for guests to dig in!

3.  Cranberry Salsa

Most parties you attend always have some type of chips and salsa available and lets be honest…it’s probably a jarred salsa that’s not that appetizing.  I decided to make a cranberry salsa as an appetizer for Thanksgiving one year and it was (surprisingly) a hit!  This isn’t just an appetizer for Thanksgiving though.  You can easily make this for any party as a replacement for the normal jarred salsas.  Serve with semi-homemade tortilla chips or with pita bread.

4.  Panko Mozzarella Sticks

Who doesn’t love fried cheese?  I know I do and these are easy and perfect for a party.

Here are a few recipes I have yet to make yet but are definitely on my list of foods to serve at my next gathering:
