A few weeks ago, I had a casual American lunch with a friend and we went to Chili’s. Because I like to cook and try new restaurants, I rarely go “chain dining” but occasionally I crave it…weird. While dining at Chili’s I decided to order a burger, more specifically the Shiner Bock BBQ Burger and it was tasty! Like a lot of American chain restaurants, the portions are overabundant and unhealthy and this was no different. It definitely made an impact on me though because…I tried to recreate it!
I ate my burger so quickly, I failed to get a photo but luckily Chili’s has one on their website. I did manage to take a pic of the delicious (and so sugary) strawberry lemonade and some interesting Chili’s decor:
My burger:
My Chili’s burger creation was very simple but just a bit different than the original:
- used a fresh onion roll instead of a regular bun
- did ground turkey instead of beef
- fried onions & jalapeños instead of only onions
- replaced cheddar cheese with colby-jack
- I would also suggest using sauteed spinach instead of lettuce
Definitely a delicious restaurant remake!
