Test Kitchen: Iced Coffee

Like most people in the world, I enjoy coffee.  Hot coffee, iced coffee, flavored coffee – the list goes on.  Recently, I’ve noticed the amount of money I’ve been spending on coffee.  Granted, I do have a coffee maker at home but I don’t always have time to use it let alone try and make some fancy, delicious-tasting coffee treat.  Until…I thankfully fell upon The Hazel Bloom, a blog that just saved me so much money in iced coffee!

Once I read her take on iced coffee, I thought to myself…why in the world didn’t I think of that??  Oh well.

And so I go to make my own iced coffee on a leisurely Saturday morning.  The most important ingredient is the ice coffee cubes, which I prepared the night before.

I brewed a regular pot of coffee, added some sugar while it was still hot, and chilled it until I was ready for it.

Once I was ready for my coffee treat, I added half & half to my lovely coffee ice cubes & brewed coffee.  For an extra delight, I added a bit of caramel.  The caramel definitely made my morning!

I’m so obsessed with this idea, that I’ve done this 2 weekends in a row!  It’s sooooo good…Starbucks who?
