Seriously, how long has it been since I’ve written a blog post? Actually, don’t count. I’m embarrassed by how long it’s been. Honestly, I had every intention of getting back into the swing of things by doing a little cooking and some writing. Because life is so nutty right now even in quarantine and especially with a new baby, I wasn’t setting the bar too high but something I was comfortable with. Looking back, it seems laughable now.
My initial goal was to simply cook once a week. That’s it. I LOVE cooking (obviously) and I miss it so much. The few times I have cooked a little something, it felt so good and almost, shall I say, *normal*. I also miss you – my sweet readers. Hopefully, some of you are still here.
*crickets*
Anyway, the point of this post is to give an update on life currently so here we are. What’s been happening?
Life currently…
If you’ve been a reader for a while, you know that John and I recently welcomed baby Mason to our family 5 months ago (omg). On top of that, I’m back working (at home), which with a baby + pandemic has proven to be a much bigger challenge than I expected.
If you’re new here, I co-founded a nonprofit organization with my friend Jennifer called The Chattery. Come take a class with us – you can live anywhere and join our virtual classroom (#shamelessplug).
John and I have been taking quarantine pretty seriously so going out and working at a coffee shop isn’t something I’m quite ready to do just yet. While I usually love working from home, this time around it’s been a huge challenge. Speaking of quarantine, good grief – remember when we thought this would be over in a matter of months yet here we are?
When we ventured into parenthood, we certainly didn’t know what to expect but it definitely wasn’t this. Besides our pediatrician, our baby girl hasn’t been held by anyone else. She’s only been able to meet people from afar. Despite the doom and gloom of the pandemic, life currently is busy and a bit of an adjustment. I know one day, when we’re on the other side of this, we’ll be stronger.
That’s pretty much it on my end. I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of things soon. Stay tuned for new recipes (one day).
