Most people see Labor Day as the end of the summer and even though it does signify that the end is near, I’m still holding on to the last days of summer. Labor Day was actually pretty low key; no barbecues, no picnics – just quiet. John and I took a late evening walk to end the holiday – not too exciting but just what I needed. Earlier in the weekend we were invited to dinner at a friend’s home for homemade pizza…so good! They’re starting to do interactive dinner parties and I think it’s a brilliant idea. check them out – The Saucy Sicilian.
I started the weekend with a couple of cocktails and fried pickles at Public House and ended the weekend by making bacon jam. Yes, bacon jam. There’s a story behind it, which I will share later this week (and on my Nooga column).
Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!
