New Years (Food) Resolution

It’s a new year and so it’s time for a new post.  I’ve been m.i.a. due to a lack of cooking experiments and an exciting business adventure I’m working on.  In that time, however, I’ve been pondering about my next post and my new year’s resolution(s).  Resolutions can usually be bothersome and annoying but my resolutions are fun tasks that I want and need to accomplish.

For 2010, I wanted to support the arts more…and that I did!  From plays to concerts, my friends and I did it all!  This year my resolutions (I hope) will support me socially, financially and professionally.  They’re broken down into two categories food & personal.  *drum roll*

My Food Resolution:

Trying new recipes & concocting my own.  Some of the ones I want to try…

Sweet Potato Pancakes

Pear Maple Cobblers

And this beautiful pear salad, which I think I’ve mentioned before Vertical Pear Salad

My Personal Resolutions:

Completely stock my bar!!! No, seriously.  I’ve tried, then I have people over and its the end of it.  2011 is my year to stock my bar…any type of cocktail you want, I can make it for you.

Try to do more DIY projects.  This is a hard one as I’m not very artistic as I wish.  My main DIY project consists of reupholstering a chair for my desk both of which, I haven’t received yet.  Ha!  The desk has been purchased, I just have to find a chair project…trust me, there will definitely be pictures of that…

Continue to see more plays, movies and concerts.  I’ve already begun that process…going to see Ms. Lauryn Hill in less than 2 weeks!

Continue to work on my business venture with my dear friend, more details coming soon.

Spend more time with friends by having more dinner parties (I’m contemplated my first one of the year to be in March with a New Orleans theme!), getting more friends together for cocktail parties and/or possibly starting a supper club (the jury’s still out on that one).

Hope you had a fabulous new year…happy 2011!!!
