Recently I made…salmon burgers!!! It was so much fun & delicious. The process itself was quite easy, if you have time and patience.
I started out with a small salmon fillet and chopped & minced it until it resembled ground salmon.
my beautiful salmon!
Next – I proceeded to season the ground salmon with basic seasonings:
- salt & pepper
- red pepper
- seasoned salt
- garlic
- 1 egg
- rosemary
- breadcrumbs
- dash of soy sauce
- fresh lemon juice
I made burger patties and added them to a heated skillet of olive oil. Once cooked for a few moments, I topped the burger patties with smoked gouda cheese and spinach.
the spinach was was tossed in olive oil & a bit of kosher salt
Once the burgers were finished, I served them on freshly made focaccia bread (not by me, but made by one of my favorite grocers The Fresh Market). I toyed with what condiment (if any) to put on the bread too. Because of my lack of creativity, I did it with a bit of barbecue sauce and it was delicious! The sweet & spiciness of the bbq sauce mixed the the bitterness of the spinach and the flavorful salmon burger was so good!
Of course my burger wouldn’t be complete without a side of sweet potato fries! I will definitely be trying this kitchen experiment again…very soon. Yum!
