Test Kitchen Frolic: Patron Cupcakes

Alright, so recently I experimented with making Patron Cupcakes. The recipe itself seemed pretty easy.  The ingredients were simple, most of which I already had.  Really the only thing I had to buy was the tequila and orange liqueur.

Initially, I was supposed to make these cupcakes for a friend’s bday…only to realize the day of (cue the dramatic music) MY MUFFIN PAN WAS MISSING!!  Distraught, I regrouped and decided to make them for dessert on Easter Sunday.

The Outcome:

As you can see, they didn’t exactly rise they way I needed them to and my icing was more like a glaze than a thick icing.  The flavor on the other hand, was quite delicious.  A bit sweet, but good nonetheless.  I need to do this again and see if it the outcome is any different.

In the meantime, I’ll just have a Patron margarita…
