The {holiday} Weekend

Whoah.  What a weekend.  This weekend, though a holiday weekend, was full of meetings, an out of town wedding, volunteering and cooking.  I’m tired just thinking about it.  John and I took a mini-road trip to Alabaster, Alabama (yeah, I’ve never heard of it either) for a wedding.  The wedding was beautiful and the bride was absolutely gorgeous.  I love weddings!  I ended the weekend by volunteering with two fantastic organizations (Glass House Collective and Fair Share) and lucky for us, the weather was cooperative.  This week will be busy, full of more meetings (what else is new), events and prepping to head out of town…back to Alabama I go.  This upcoming trip to Alabama will be different; I’m heading to Birmingham for Food Blog South.  Can’t wait!  I (we) ate so horribly this weekend, probably the worst I’ve eaten in a really long time. I’m in need of a cleanse of some sort.

Before leaving for Alabama, John and I tried new-ish restaurant Slick’s Burger (more on that later).  While in Alabama, we tried Full Moon Bar-B-Que, Whataburger (never tried it and not sure I’m a fan, my chicken sandwich was a little blah and bland) and no matter where I go, I always find a Chipotle.  All in all, it was a delicious and busy weekend.  Cleanse time…
