Baked Goods-Pains au Chocolat

I don’t bake often but when I do, I keep it very simple – as seen here & here.  Same thing with this little baked good.  I was perusing one of my favorite blogs, Cupcakes & Cashmere and saw this and thought it was something I definitely needed to try!

This was by far the easiest dessert I’ve made in a really long time.  As you can see, I used a Godiva chocolate…so hard, I kept eating the chocolate before I could event roll them up in the puff pastry.  I used Pepperidge Farm puff pastry instead of baking dough from scratch.  I added a bit of brown sugar and cinnamon on the top before baking, which wasn’t done in the original recipe.  All in all, really great idea for a brunch or mid-afternoon snack.  Yum!
